Sensei Hans de Jong has been known to me for quite a number of years, both on his trips to the Eastern States of Australia and on my various visits to Western Australia. I have always found Sensei Hans de Jong to be a true practitioner of the art of Ju Jitsu, his knowledge of the Art is remarkable. Sensei Hers de Jong has always been able to impart his knowledge, with a great degree of ease and has the uncanny ability to hold the attention of the lower grades through to the Dan grades in whatever he is demonstrating. This Sensei is a true gentleman of the Art and has the respect of myself and other long time Instructors Brierley Bailey OAM 6th Dan, National Secretary of the Australian Ju-Jitsu Association Inc.
I have had the pleasure of being a friend of Hans de Jong for quite a number of years. In my opinion, Hans is an excellent Jujitsu Instructor. His knowledge of the art, and the way he relates to students of all levels is uncanny. Hans' love for the martial arts is evident by his involvement spanning 50 years to date. He is very highly recommended by senior instructors both Nationally and Internationally. Hans is truly one of nature's gentlemen, and without doubt, one of the finest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. John Beckman, President of the Australian Ju-Jitsu Association Inc. Senjutsu Ryu Jujitsu – 7th Dan, Chief Instructor.
I consider myself extremely privileged in having met Hans de Jong Sensei. He is, in my humble opinion, one of the very finest jujutsu instructors in the world. That Hans has been involved in jujutsu for 50 years, and the respect shown to Hans by practitioners of all ages and arts/styles is proof of its abilities, character and dedication to the martial arts. Hans is an extremely humble person who sets a very high standard for the rest of us to follow, both as jujutsu practitioners and as human beings. Howard Quick – Kokusai Shinkendo Renmei (International Shinkendo Federation), Shinkendo Australia – shibucho, kokusai Toyama Ryu Renmei (International Toyama Ryu Federation), Senjustsu Ryu Jujitsu – 4th Dan.
We first saw Hans de Jong and his father at an international seminar in the dojo of Sensei Jurgen Schercher. We were fascinated in the different style and have been happy to train under them on a regular basis, usually once a year which is quite often if you consider the distances. Some of our members have travelled to Perth, Western Australia, to train under Hans and his father. We were very sad to hear of the passing of Jan de Jong, but happy that Hans continues to teach the techniques and the spirit of Jan de Jong. We had the honour, and the pleasure, to host Hans de Jong in our dojo for a week of training. We enjoyed his company and learned a lot, and always look forward to see him again, as a friend and as a teacher. Marcus Gebauer, TSV Lindau Ju-jutsu, Lindau, Germany
Aalborg selvforsvar og Ju jitsu club has had the pleasure of having Sensei Hans de Jong teaching in Aalborg, Denmark. It has been a great experience for us and we enjoyed his teachings in jujitsu and I am sure that we will profit from his long experience for many years. It is clear that he has learned from one of the greatest jujitsuka, his father Jan de Jong. Hans de Jong possess the true spirit of a martial artist which a very rare to find these days. We all know him as a warm, humorous and very skilled jujitsuka. I highly recommend Sensei Hans de Jong to other martial art clubs all over the world and am personally looking forward to see him again in Aalborg next year. Christian Hvidberg, 3 dan Mizo-no-kokoro ju-jitsu, Chief Instructor Aalborg selvforsvar og ju jitsu klub, Aalborg, Denmark.
